My Traveler’s Notebook Walkthrough

My Traveler's Notebook Walkthrough

For as long as I can remember, I have been obsessed with notebooks, pens, lists, and journals. About six months ago I discovered Traveler’s Notebooks and I have been hooked ever since! They allow me to have endless customization to keep track of my life so today, I decided to give you a walkthrough of my current Traveler’s Notebook.

What is a Traveler’s Notebook?

Traveler’s notebooks are magical, completely customizable, one of a kind notebooks that allow the user to keep track of literally anything. The cover can be made of various materials like fabric or leather and it holds little notebooks inside with elastic.

My Traveler’s Notebook

I have a Websters Pages Color Crush cover which I love! It is gorgeous and sturdy enough to be thrown in my purse every day. I could gush about it for days and it was only about $15 with a coupon at Jo-ann Fabrics. Win-win!

Inside My Traveler’s Notebook

Inside, I have decorated the pockets with scrapbook paper and pretty paperclips, I use clips on my notebooks to mark my place, and keep one of my Staedtler Triplus Fineliner pens in the pen loop. Side note: Staedtler Triplus Fineliner pens are my current favorite pens. They write smoothly, have many colors to choose from, and don’t bleed or smear. I highly recommend them!

Bullet Journal

I will start with my most recent addition because I am so very excited about it: a bullet journal. I decided to make it with dots rather than a grid but with use, I might decide to make the next one with a grid. Next month, I am going to start using this for tracking habits, planning my days, and maybe more. I will let you know how it is going at some point next month as I get it set up. Like most of the notebooks that I use, I designed this notebook myself then printed it out, sewed it together, and cut it down to size.

Lined Notebook

I use this notebook as a place to jot down notes, grocery lists, to do lists, and anything else that I need to remember for the short term. It is messy and I love it.

Reading Log

I, of course, love my books and I use Goodreads but I like to also keep an physical record of what I am reading. That’s where this notebook comes in. When I designed the notebook, I guess my brain decided to take a day off because I forgot to add a blank for the author’s name but I will manage. How do you keep track of the books that you are reading?

Weekly Planner

My Weekly Planner in My Traveler's Notebook
A good friend of mine gave this Webster’s Pages planner to me so it is the only one of my notebooks that was not made by me. Even though it is not tailored exactly to me, I have enjoyed using this planner. For starters, I really like that it has space for meal planning during the week. I am not a fan of the tiny amount of space for the weekend. Next month, I will use my new bullet journal for my plans so this notebook will be moving to my shelf soon. Probably, I will pull it out again to finish using it in the future.

What do you think?

Do you have a traveler’s notebook or have you thought about using one? What is your favorite way to use it? Because I have only used my traveler’s notebook for a few months, I am always looking for new ideas! Let me know what you think in the comments below.

  • Yes! I loved this! I’ve always heard of travelers notebooks and have a crappy one from Michaels. While I don’t know if it’s for me, I might still try one and string my Scribbles the Matter notebook through it. I love the idea. I love how yours is set up, it’s super cute and I love how you make your own inserts! You should totally do a tutorial on how you do that and maybe even offer downloads for the ones you create. It could even be a source of income through Etsy! Also, I love dot grid over grid grid lol.

    • Thanks, Kylie! I am planning on doing a tutorial on making inserts soon! How big is your Scribbles the Matter notebook? It might be too big to fit but let me know if you try it! I’m using your bullet journalling post for inspiration while I’m setting mine up by the way. 🙂
